On July 17, 2007, my life changed for the best; Olivia Saige Young was born into this world. In August of 2008, the title of a full time single mother/father was given to me. Being a single parent has been rough, but I do have to say its been a blessing that I have Olivia with me at all times. I serve an AWESOME God and he leads me to make the right decisions for Olivia.
I am a legal secretary for an AWESOME Attorney in Starkville and have been here with him for 5 years now. I am also enrolled as a full time student at EMCC working on a degree in Medical Office Technology. So yes you read right, full time mother and daddy, full time legal secretary, and a full time student. GO ME that is all I can say. I love having a busy life because it keeps me busy and my mind off things.
Oh! Can't forget my loving parents. What would I do without them? Umm... I would be lost. My mother, Dana, is my rock. She has been through so much in life and has stayed strong through it all. She has given me the best life a daughter could ask for and I hope I can do the same for Olivia. My step father, Jim, is the back bone for the whole family. I couldn't have asked for a better man to step into my life some 16 or so years ago. He has been more than a step dad to me, and he is best Poppy Olivia could ask for.
Some additional facts that you may not know about me.
- I was born in Georgetown, Kentucky, no I am not the true Mississippi girl I seem to be. I am a deep rooted Kentuckian girl.
- I am a big time DREAMER. My dreams are big, and I know someday I will fulfill those dreams. Dreams are answers to questions we haven't yet figured out how to ask...
- I was once married. I went to Alabama and got married without telling everyone. Yes, my mother knew I was doing it.
- I have an A.A.S. in Banking and Finance from EMCC.
- I collect butterflies, especially purple butterflies.
- I am deathly scared of heights. I am so scared of heights; I am scared of stairs.
- Last but not least, I am left handed and to top that off, I had 5 wisdom teeth. Notice I said had, they were all cut out when I was 17 years young.
I absolutely LOVE this blog. The background, the story of your life (once you get up and running, dont stop, dont look back, keep on building up speed until you take wings and flyyyyy). I dont know how you find the energy to do everything you do, but keep on keepin on. I dont know what that song is that plays on your blog, but I love it.
ReplyDeleteFirst let me say, Olivia is a pretty little girl. I like your background and choice of music. When I was only eighteen, I eloped to Alabama to get married, but nobody knew. It is great that you have supporting parents, it makes all the difference. Sounds like you have a great deal going for you, and a lot to look forward too in the future.
ReplyDeleteWe have something in common being afraid of heights. I to was a single mother for years until I asked to send me the man he felt I needed. Low and behold 16 months later he did. Keep striving for the best in life and with GOD everything is possible.
ReplyDeleteWhen i was young you couldn't tell me anything. I stayed climbing trees and swing and flipping out of them. My grandmother always told me that I was going to break something if I didn't stay out of that tree. I was never afraid of heights then, but now I am definitely afraid of heights.
